Genetic Life is a not-for-profit research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do research into Genetic Algorithms. You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.
Currently it's in Beta testing

Genetic Life is based in the UK and is currently investigating the evolution of systems based upon simple sets of instructions.

August the 16th, 2008 New Platforms Available
Thanks to Lars for providing me a set of binaries for FreeBSD, NetBSD and Solaris on the Intel platform.

August the 14th, 2008 Server Problems
As many of you may have noticed, I have been suffering from web server problems these past few days. I am actively looking into this and have posted in the message boards actions I am taking to try to resolve these.

August the 6th, 2008 Beta Started
Today I launched the Beta application and a set of work unit to be crunched. Enjoy.

August the 4th, 2008 V1.50 Ready for Beta Testing
The GNU/Linux and Windows applications are now ready for Beta testing (v1.50). Mac versions will follow as soon as I can get them compiled for me. I've stopped WU generation, will let the existing work run down and then release the new apps and WUs within the next two days.

August the 1st, 2008 Preparing for Beta
With the application stability issue now seemingly resolved I am preparing to go into Beta Test. In addition to this, I have also been provided with a new Mac version which is up and running. Thanks to all who have weathered the storm of the Alpha phase.
